"Dragonborn" is based on a fellow artist's illustration. We've been collaborating on a game asset/VTT compatible character collection. In order to get a better feeling for the character's lizard-like skin, I created some custom alpha brushes for the larger scales. The skin was meant to be pearl-iridescent, so I tried to achieve this look by playing with different fill layers+metallic. All of the facial details are the result of a lot of masking and extrusions. All the different layers of clothes and straps required a bit of manual skinning. Softwares that were used: zBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Blender.
